The Monkey is the mischievous flat pack member of the new animal trio, who flicks his tail and eats his banana when you crank the handle. The addition of the flat pack models represents Timberkits recognition that younger members of the family want to join in the fun of assembling working model automata so the pieces are easier to handle and the single cam mechanism is common to the other members of the animal family of models. The flat pack animals all use a similar mechanism, at the heart if which is an offset cam in a horizontal cam box which is open at one end. That box is connected to a single flat vertical pushrod that makes connections to other parts of the body by short pushrods or body parts acting as cams and cam followers to create a motion that is unique to the animal depicted in the kit.
Unfortunately we are unable to engrave on this model due to the packaging.

The models are manufactured from renewable wood sources and are design for age 9 and over. Younger builders may require the assistance of an adult. The models, both kits and built, are not suitable for children 3 years and under due to the risk of choking on the small parts.
