Picture the early morning lake of your imagination as you pull on the oars, enjoying the tranquility and solitude. When you crank the handle the Rower moves back and forward and the waves provide the illusion of motion as they rise and fall on two offset cams.
Cams, cams and more cams in this model!! A large eccentric cam on the main crankshaft provides motion through a cam box connected to the front of the hull. This motion is transmitted via the hull to a pivot at the base of the Rower’s body. The eccentric movement of the main cam provides the back and forward motion for the arms and oars that are loosely pivoted off the main body. On each end of the crankshaft is a small eccentric cam that runs in a slightly oversize hole in the wave topped sides and as the shaft rotates, the wave sides move up and down and forwards and backwards.
