Picture the wide blue ocean with three sailboats heading to the destination of your imagination. Lazing along in the sun on the blue green sea with the Albatross circling overhead and recall the old sailor's tale that every Albatross is a seaman that has passed away, a sort of nautical angel to keep watch over the men and ships of today. Operate the hand crank and this turns a series of triangular cams, each offset slightly from the one before it and via bamboo rods the motion is carried to the waves.
In Ocean Motion there are fifteen double round ended cams on the crankshaft that operate the waves via bamboo pushrods. The cams are not mounted beneath the pushrods but behind them so the operate in a smooth motion as each end comes and bears on the pushrod, the waves rise and fall in sequence driven by the slightly offset cams along the shaft. The Albatross that is to be seen circling over the three sailboats is driven by a shaft on a friction disc at the far end of the crankshaft.
