The famous “Nodding Donkey” seen from West Texas to Kazakhstan, this icon of the oilfield is available only from Timberkits US as a kit or a completed model. Operate the crank handle and the beam operates the pumper rod while our “asset manager” gives you a friendly wave.
The Pump Jack is one of the more sophisticated models in that it has multiple examples of physics and engineering. The beam is a classic lever weighted at one and connected to a push/pull pump mechanism which is driven from an enclosed cam box with a half flywheel on each side for the conversion of movement into kinetic energy and then released as rotary motion to the beam via to short pushrods. Underneath the model is a lever with the fulcrum off center that converts vertical motion from the cam box to the movement in the man via pushrod and a pivot in the upper body.
Each model kit comes with
- All wooden components shaped and drilled
- Sandpaper for finishing
- PVA glue
- Parts list
- Comprehensive instructions
The models are manufactured from renewable wood sources and are design for age 9 and over. Younger builders may require the assistance of an adult. The models, both kits and built, are not suitable for children 3 years and under due to the risk of choking on the small parts.
Timberkits US is the only retail location in the USA and Canada where you can see and purchase the complete Timberkits range. |
