They don't come any friendlier than our Snappy Croc and it is one of the simplest in the range. When you turn the crank handle, he opens and closes his mouth and his tail goes up and down so this would be suitable for the younger members of our Timberkits collector’s family.
The body of the Snappy Croc is the cam box and housed inside are two offset cams on the crack shaft. The tail and the lower jaw are pivoted close to the inner end in the center of the cam body box. As the cams turn they bear on the short end of the tail and the lower jaw providing the opening closing of the mouth against the upper jaw which is fixed and the tail raises and lowers.

The models are manufactured from renewable wood sources and are design for age 9 and over. Younger builders may require the assistance of an adult. The models, both kits and built, are not suitable for children 3 years and under due to the risk of choking on the small parts.
