The Center of the Timberkits Universe
So this is where it all begins, the design workshop of Eric Williamson and the fact that there is more than a passing resemblance to Disney’s Geppetto is not entirely surprising. Eric has lived and worked now for many years in the Welsh town of Llanbrynmair, designing and manufacturing Timberkits and also building a museum of working automata which is well worth a visit if you happen to be in the area.
Eric claims to be technically challenged by the digital world we now live in, preferring to sharpen chisels rather than add tunes to his MP3 player! Well Eric, that is fine by us, keep us all supplied with your wonderful wooden creations and we will provide the music.
We will keep you informed about new arrivals to the range, new designs that are in the factory and new ideas that are in Eric’s head. We have to rely on Alison, the ever patient Mrs. Williamson, to let us know what is going on in Eric’s head.
Perhaps it is no coincidence that one of Eric’s earliest and most successful large automaton commissions was the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party from Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland.
